End of life for XP and Exchange 2003

By now, if you are still running Windows XP in your workplace, then you probably know that end of life is fast approaching. On the 8th April 2014, support from Microsoft for Windows XP and Exchange 2003 is ending, meaning they will become a greater security risk.

If you’re still running Windows XP, hopefully you’ve already got a plan in place to move to the latest versions of Windows.

However, if you’re still on Exchange 2003, you have a couple of options – either buying new servers and hardware and upgrading to Exchange 2013, and the appropriate retraining for staff, or moving to the cloud.

Whilst moving mailboxes to a hosted service such as Exchange Online can be a smooth experience with the right partner, companies are also finding that change begets change, and are considering moving other services to the cloud at the same time, such as communication tools and even their office suite can lead to even greater efficiency and cost savings.
